Responsibilities of A Team Hurricanes Recruiter

  • Serve from September 2016 until Saturday, February 11, 2017 (DCC event day)
  • Help Team Hurricanes:
    - Exceed its DCC fundraising goal of $1 million (remember: 100% of participant-raised funds go to support cancer research at Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center)
    - Register 600+ runners, walkers and cyclists
  • Increase awareness about DCC and its mission to support cutting-edge cancer research at Sylvester and generate buzz regarding DCC
  • Recruit and register target participants to Team Hurricanes, pre-formed Member-Teams – such as Team Hurricanes-Sylvester – or encourage the formation of a new Member-Teams
  • Collaborate with the Team Hurricanes campaign manager to vet own networks to identify and engage new prospective participants
  • Participate in monthly check-in calls or meetings with the campaign manager

Support and Resources

Team Hurricanes recruiters will receive ongoing, personalized support from Dooyon Cho, interim campaign manager of Team Hurricanes. Assistance includes, but is not limited to:

  • Development of customized outreach and engagement strategies
  • Drafting of emails
  • Compilation of email addresses
  • Execution of email distributions
  • Advising as to how to utilize and leverage social media
  • Weekly reminders of DCC tasks
  • Addressing questions from prospective and registered participants
  • Organizing small recruitment events, as appropriate
